How To Get Started With The Forum - 2005/07/06 20:45 Welcome to the brand new members forum. This new forum will now enable you to create topics and post replies to other residents' contributions.

In order to start using this forum you will need to create a new account. You can do this by clicking on the “Create an Account” link directly below the Member's Login box on the right-hand side.

You then simply fill in all of your details and as soon as you have paid the R130 membership fee as found at www.observatory.za.net an Admin will activate your account for you and you can beging speaking your mind.

While you can see most of the structure of this forum certain parts are blocked off for members only and you will need an active membership to read what others are saying.

How do you add a topic to a forum?
Well the first step is to select an appropriate forum from the list. As an example if you want to have your say on the 5 year plan click on the “General Remarks” link and once in click on the “Post New Topic” link at the top of the page.

You can now setup a new topic and other members can post their replies to what you have to say.

How do you reply to a topic?
This is just as simple, if not easier, as adding a new topic. When you read another members topic you can simply click on the “Reply” link and type in your text. This will now post your reply and notify the person who created the topic of your response to their item.

What’s the difference between a Topic and a Reply?
A topic is where you the member create a topic which would allow users to respond to what you have to say. A reply is only available to make a comment on someone else’s topic that they have created.

I’m still confused – now what?
There is a detailed FAQ section that explains everything to you in great detail. Look for the FAQ icon located near the top of the page and click on it for other questions and answers. If you are still experiencing problems you can make contact with us directly and email support@observatory.za.net
