Let's catch the muggers!

The muggers of our suburb's school kids have been identified: Pat Murphy, an ex-police reservist, has not only indentified the three coloured men who have been terrorising the pupils over the last two months in Mons/Innes Road, he even has an address for them. To apprehend them, he needs the kids who were mugged to come forward with case numbers (in all muggings cell phones were stolen) and to identify them. Can the victims please contact Pat at 082 690 3090 urgently so that we can remove these guys and have one hot spot less.

Mugs and muggings

Please watch out for three coloured men who over the past month have been mugging children walking in Mons Road and Innes Street. Their latest victim, a 16-year-old pupil from Sacred Heart College, was mugged on Wednesday (5 April) afternoon by the group.

Patrick Murphy, an ex-police reservist who runs a security company in Kensington, has been patrolling the hot spot the last couple of days and is adamant to arrest the group. "The same suspects had carried out a robbery in Kensington/Bruma the same day at lunchtime," says Patrick. "They chat up their victims and ask to exchange cell numbers. As the victim takes out the phone, they grab it and make their getaway on two bicycles."

Should anyone see the three men, please phone Patrick at 082 690 3090 immediately.

Keith Lang and his wife, Diane, were the victims of an armed robbery in their driveway in Eckstein Street on Monday (3 April).

"We've pulled into our driveway and were still getting out of the car when three armed men approached us," says Diane. They pinned her and Keith to the ground and threatened them with guns.

"They took my bag and stripped me of all my jewellery," says an angry Diane. A helper in the Lang household saw the incident from an upstairs window and raised the alarm. "My biggest disappointment was that it took the police nearly two hours before they arrived."

The men made their getaway in a red BMW or Audi, so please be on the look out.
