No more high bills and ALWAYS power
You can save up to 80% on your electricity bill and
NEVER be without power – that is the solemn promise of Shaun Jackson, an
electronic engineer, who has come up with some ingenious ways to use nature –
and more specifically wind – for sustainable and alternative power.
Shaun, director of NCCB Holdings,
has a simple answer: “We all know Eskom has difficulty in meeting the public demand, as reported in the media. Power failures? No more. I just install my magic
box in the roof of your house and connect the house’s plugs and lights onto
it and voila! If the power fails, my magic box kicks in automatically and you
have power.”
And it’s all legal too: Shaun's magic box will be compliant to municipal regulations. It will be
used during all off-peak periods.
“If you for example pay R1 000
per month for your electricity usage, that bill will be cut to just over R200,” says Shaun.
The batteries used is of such high standard it should last a lifetime. His magic box has a year-long
guarantee – and after the year you can sign up for a service contract with his company at a small monthly fee. "I'll maintain your system and look after the batteries."
But a word of warning: “Your stove, geyser, tumble dryer, kettle and
hairdryer must stay on Eskom power. Those household items draw a lot of power,
but my magic box will assure that you will always have TV, lights, a computer
running, music playing and a freezer working – you name it, I have it,” says
Shaun.
This system will cost about R10 000
– and can be paid off within a year through your savings.
Shaun can also “upgrade” your power
supply to wind power with two magic boxes and a wind generating power supply. “The wind generator is about 6m high with 5 blades of 1m each – but we
camouflage it to blend into your garden. And don’t worry if you think your
garden is too protected from wind: you just breathe in the direction of the
wind generator and the blades start spinning,” says Shaun.
