Eckstein Street is minus 10 bags of rubbish - thanks to the six volunteers who picked up bottles, mielies, and yes, even panties!
Pity only three Eckstein residents pitched up to clean their street, but thanks Rachel Stewart, Sunny Morgan and Sunny's daughter. You did a sterling job - and even paid your ORA fees!
Together with the Hartman team and Rachel Browne, who heads up the Keeping Obs Clean campaign, we filled five bags with rubbish just around Sacred Heart College - maybe a little fact the school's management must take note of?
There are no bins at the bus shelter and also no bench. The tired volunteers had to sit on the pavement for a breather... We'll ask Councillor Carol Milner to help sort that problem out.
Our next target is Innes Street (not too long) on Sunday, 27 May. Bring your R40 again, because we can yet again have a "brunch" at The Cottages afterwards.
