Thank you to the residents in St Georges Road that left the comfort of their homes to clean up their pavements and those of their neighbours on a beautiful Sunday:
The Burke family working hard
The Burke family tackled a big block in front of their home and the adjacent homes
The older members of the Hartman household did their bit for three or four houses in their vicinity
And (I think) the McGregors made a neat little pile of the rubbish near their home.
The rest of us - and that includes our councillor, Shirley Ancer - were not so much in cleaning up mode, but canvassed homes in St Georges Road to cough up R100 each for the proposed speed bumps.
We picked up yet another R1 200 just by knocking on a couple of doors. And what a pleasure to meet some new faces on the block, and say hello to better-known ones. Thanks to Shelley Rohland who walked the walk while I talked the talk...
I have asked Pikitup to clean up the park where we will have our concert this Sunday and also asked them to remove the clean-up efforts further down St Georges.
Shelley Rohland, Shirley Ancer and ORA's little helpers, Emma and Kayleen, knocked on a lot of doors.
