Nine residents toiled in the sun to clean up the little park next to the Jewish Guild Bowling Club. And it was not easy, they all agreed. "It didn't look too dirty, but the amount of stompies we had to pick up was unbelievable," said Wendy Michaelis.
For more than an hour the "clean team" scoured the ground, picked up the little bits of rubbish - and then went to Villa Fiesta for a hearty "brunch". But not before Wendy and Ane Niwinska lectured the hawkers around the park on littering.
The bins were lined with Pikitup bags and the 10 bags of rubbish collected stacked for removal. Thanks to all those who came. The park looks good for a day or two...
