Here is your final plan for your comment!
Dear Observatory Residents,
Much has happened in respect of the Precinct Plan since our last communication. The plan was amended, where possible, in view of the comment received from yourselves as posted on the web-site.
This amended plan together with the full supporting document was provided for comment and presented to the Observatory Precinct Plan Interested Parties Committee on 15 February 2007. A further meeting was held with Michele Pfab (Principle Nature Conservation Scientist, Gauteng Nature Conservation, Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Environment) in order to establish clear guidelines in respect of the ridges and steep slopes in Observatory. Michele is the author of the Gauteng Ridges Policy.
The plan was submitted to council for initial assessment by the City of Johannesburg, Precinct Planning Evaluation Committee(PPEC).
I presented the plan to the committee on 5 March 2007 at which several other developmental issues were discussed. The committee accepted the plan and recommended it for approval by Council subject to minor amendments which I have made and of which the full record is contained in the comprehensive document.
The final Precinct Plan is now available for viewing and approval by the Observatory Ratepayers' Association prior to the final submission thereof by 22 May 2007 for approval by the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality.
Please study the document and feel free to contact me should you have any queries or require additional information.
