Douglas Forbes
Human Pin Code author and physicist; resident in Eckstein Street

Douglas Forbes
Best-selling author Douglas Forbes is a physicist with a formula - but not too sceptical about angels...
He calls it “the sacred maths in your birth date” - and Douglas Forbes, author of the best-selling series Human Pin Code, should know: he studied more than 20 000 cases over two decades to prove his winning formula.

The Human Pin Code reveals who you are, what your destiny is, what relationships will work best for you and how to find solutions to your problems. Just a glance at your birth date is all this “unconventional” physicist needs to analyse your life, your kids, your relationship – in short YOU.

The idea is that we are all born with a template, or our pin code, which is worked out using our birth date. But this soft-spoken resident of Eckstein Street insists this is not astrology or numerology, nor remotely "New Age". “The Human Pin Code is a scientifically worked out formula – and I have a 95% accuracy rate.”

He published this winning formula three years ago – and Human Pin Code: The Sacred Maths in your Birth Date took South Africa by storm. It topped best-seller lists and is currently in its 7th imprint. The book reveals the simple and yet astonishingly accurate technique of scientifically analysing your personality using your birth date.

Douglas followed this success with Human Pin Code: Relationships, a book teaching the reader how to calculate the Synergy Pin Code of two people and understand the “contract” between them.

He again topped the charts and went international: his books are published in India and Australia, where he is a sought-after public speaker, and were released in Turkey last month. “I was interviewed on Turkish TV and was astonished to learn that more than 30 million viewers watched that chat show.”

But it’s his new book, due for release later this year that should raise eyebrows. Douglas has perfected his formula: “A mother chooses the date her child is born.” My disbelief – impossible with three unplanned pregnancies – is answered with a quick sum of each of my children’s birth dates and a reading of each pregnancy – and Douglas is spot on…

The book is aimed at explaining babies from conception to nine years and is titled Human Pin Code: Jou Baba. The Afrikaans title doesn’t flummox Douglas. “I speak a fluent ‘geraas-Afrikaans’: every second word is English,” he laughs. “But I owe it to my readers. More than a third of them are Afrikaners on the platteland. And with an Afrikaans mom I shouldn’t battle too much…”

How difficult is it to determine your own pin code? There are eight numbers to interpret, and with the interplay of all of them, it takes some expertise to get a full picture. Douglas suggests you have a professional reading with either him or one of his certified practitioners “to ensure the integrity of the Human Pin Code and to encourage the precise application of the formulae. It is, after all, an exact science,” he quips.

The short and the sweet

  • Douglas has a passion for cars. “I own a 1963 Bentley in mint condition.”
  • He has been an Observatory resident for the past three years and is still building…
  • He shares his sprawling house in Eckstein Street with his Oriental Siamese cat Gucci, African Grey parrot Madam, and Doberman Jenny
  • He was raised in Zambia and moved to South Africa at the age pf 16. “I have always been close to nature and the science of nature.”
  • He holds an unusual patent to black hole technology. “I can re-create a black hole on a machine.”
  • He can split time and space. “The universe is not infinite. I have the formula to prove it.”
  • He doesn’t believe in dogmas. “Every dogma must have its day.”
  • His reading matter is as diverse as the man himself: eight Bibles line one shelf in his bookcase – from Bible Readings for the Home and the latest translations – alongside The Bible Code by Michael Drosnin and John F Demartini’s self-help book You can have An Amazing Life in Just 60 Days ...
