The Urania Village Community, section 21 Company, has been formed to ensure the maintenance and security of the community and visitors. By resolution of the members of the company a levy is set each year and payable monthly by each household to maintain the village and primarily assist in creating a secure environment. There is one vehicle entrance to the village, which is manned 24 hours a day. The Urania Village, section 21 Company, works closely with the council to ensure the legal requirements of the relevant bylaws are met. The Village was one of the first legal road enclosures, under the post 1995 democratically elected Eastern Metropolitan Local Council’s support for increased security in our communities. The present monthly levy for a family residence in the village is R340. The value of that payment, is clearly seen in the present value of properties in the village and the positive sense of community security brings
